Beyond the Hustle: Why Taking Time Off Matters
In what seems to be an ever increasing world full of busy, we need to all be more intentional to take the time to re-charge, re-energize, re-set to be the best version that we can be. It seems many of us are tied to a phone, tied to job, tied to some type of commitment. And that is certainly just a component of life. Many of us have jobs, or kids, or something that requires a large amount of our time and attention. That is not a bad thing at all; there could probably even be an argument made that is healthy, and I’m not advocating removing any of that from your life.
Intentional Time for You and Your Loved Ones
The Weinland Team’s Approach
I will give an example in my life. I almost have to leave town to get this, and really try to make it a point to have all of my work stuff scheduled or done (if possible). But, we all know that real estate doesn’t wait, nor should it. This is the largest purchase of one’s life, and often times, time and deadlines are critical. That is why we have structured our real estate TEAM, the way we have. As you all know, we primarily work our own deals with our own clients. Yet it is impossible for me to fully predict what transaction we may be in the middle of in 8 months, but we already have a vacation planned. That is where having a team that I can rely on and know that they have my clients best interest at heart, allows me to take some time away and the transaction to continue to move smoothly.
Take a Break to Be Your Best
I challenge you, whatever industry you are in, to take the time to step away for a bit and invest in yourself. Travel, do a staycation, do something to just temporarily step away to make sure that you can continue to be the best professional, best parent, best family member that you can be. Don’t let the stress of the small things get to you.
