In today’s fast-paced world, mental health is a crucial aspect of our overall well-being that often gets overlooked. With the goal of continuing the conversation started during this last month’s Mental Health Awareness month, I’m thrilled to share five compelling events happening right here in Fort Collins. These gatherings not only aim to raise awareness but also provide tangible support, making mental health resources more accessible to our community.
NAMIWalks Northern Colorado: A Stride Toward Awareness
Date: September 14, 2024
Location: Spring Canyon Community Park, Fort Collins
NAMIWalks Northern Colorado serves as a beacon of hope and solidarity. It’s the largest mental health awareness walk in our area, supporting NAMI’s mission to offer free, transformative programs. This inclusive event encourages community participation and fosters hope.

Mental Health Focus at Fort Collins Rescue Mission
Date: Throughout June 2024
Location: Fort Collins Rescue Mission
Dedicated to trauma-informed care, the Rescue Mission offers various programs this June. From mindful movement sessions and therapy animals to motivational conversations, they’re geared toward resilience and recovery.

“Be Mindful – It Matters” Exhibit at Front Range Community College
Date: June 13 – July 11, 2024
Location: Grey’s Peak Building, FRCC
This interactive educational exhibit, designed by CAHEC, includes crucial information on mental health education, skill-building, and coping strategies, aimed at dismantling stigmas and fostering awareness.

Annual Mental Health Matters Conference
Date: June 28, 2024
Location: Lincoln Center, Fort Collins
Featuring a mix of workshops, speakers, and breakout sessions, this conference is a comprehensive platform for learning about and discussing mental health issues that affect our community.
