National First Responders Day
Courage, Compassion, and Community
Earlier last week it was National First Responders Day. National First Responders Day is Observed on October 28th, and was first established by Congress in 2017. The day is designated to honor the brave individuals who respond to emergencies. First Responders that are primarily recognized on this day consist of police officers, fire fighters, EMTs/paramedics, and 911 Operators.
Community Safety in Real Estate
Community safety is a topic priority for many when it comes to choosing where to live. Crime rates, response times, agency reputation, fire station proximity, available hospitals and emergency rooms are all frequently thought of topics when it comes to choosing where to plant your roots. Here in Northern Colorado, we are blessed to have so many great First Responders and emergency services available if we ever needed them (hopefully we don’t though).
A Commitment to Our Community
I know first hand many great men and women who passionately serve their communities here in Northern Colorado to make it a better place. The commitment that these professionals display to service of others is very noble. It takes a special person to answer the call of any one of those professions.
Thank You to the First Responder Families
I believe that is is also important to recognize the impact that those professions can have on the responders family. Everyone who applies for one of those positions knows that it is a 24/7/365 calling. Every First Responder will miss holidays, birthdays, get togethers, and other special occasions – often doing so without complaint. Many of these families work together to perhaps celebrate on a different day to accommodate the schedule. Or perhaps they are able to attend, but with little sleep due to having to work the night before.
Thank You For All That You Do!
It is comforting to know though that so many in our community are still willing to answer to call to one of these essential professions. A simple thank you to these men and women in uniform can go a long way and is often appreciated. On behalf of myself, my family, and many others that I know, I’d like to say a sincere thank you to all of these First Responders.
