From Colorado to Texas and Back: Our Buc-ee’s Road Trip Adventure
Our Buc-ee’s Road Trip Adventure
Last year, we turned my business trip to Austin, TX, into a family road adventure. We all jumped in the car and headed south, into 106 degree heat and humidity. In Austin we enjoyed great food, history, a bunch of bats, and a great conference. But it was the trip back where we encountered the highlight. We stopped at a gas station.
Not Just Any Gas Station
Now I know what you are thinking. How bad was the trip when a gas station stop became the highlight? Well, this was no ordinary gas station, it was a Buc-ee’s and it was the largest gas station we had ever visited. Imagine a place like CostCo, but filled with fresh food prepared right before your eyes. Walls lined with freshly made candy and more jerky than you could imagine.. Unforgettable!
Buc-ee’s Comes to NoCo
That is why I am so excited to tell you that Buc-ee’s is coming not only to Colorado, but Northern Colorado. Wall of jerky, here I come!! The Texas-based Buc-ee’s company broke ground in June of 2022 on their 74,000 square foot location at the southwest corner of Interstate 25 and County Road 48. Making it the largest Buc-ee’s in the country.
What Buc-ee’s Has to Offer NoCo
“This is something that’s going to be an amazing thing for the town of Johnstown and the entire region,” said Johnstown Mayor Gary Lebsack. “We look at this as the gateway to retail for Northern Colorado. We’re really excited to have Buc-ee’s in Johnstown. It’s a wonderful day.”
Wonderful day indeed! I can’t wait to fill up at one of the 116 fueling stations, use one of their award-winning clean bathrooms and of course, spend some dough on fresh roasted cinnamon almonds and a big bag of jerky. I know it is odd to get excited about a gas station, but wait until you experience all that Buc-ee’s beaver has to offer.
Buc-ee’s Here We Come!
As we eagerly anticipate the opening of Buc-ee’s in Northern Colorado, it’s not just the promise of endless aisles and unique treats that excites us, but the joyful memories of our family road trip, reminding us that sometimes the most unexpected stops turn into cherished adventures.
